Retreating monsoon occuts in the months of october snd november .

The low pressure established in the indian landmass gradually becomes weak and is no longer able to attract moisture laden winds.

Therefore the winds from the Indian subcontinent starts retreating. They move in a circular manner and absorb moisture from the bay of bengal. They shed this moisture on the eastern coastal belt and states of tamil nadu andhra pradesh orissa etc receive rainfall and also sri Lanka.
