Reverse Osmosis is a process by which a solvent passes through a porous membrane in the direction opposite to that for natural osmosis when subjected to a hydro static pressure greater than the osmotic pressure.

If pressure more than the minimum pressure is applied on the solution the solvent will start flowing from solution into the pure solvent through semipermeable membrane this is known as reverse osmosis.
