scattering of light is the process due to which light gets deflected and diffused all over as a result of its interplay with tiny matter particles.
sky appear blue because the air molecules and other fine particles in the atmosphere have size smaller then the wavelength of visible light. therefore these molecules and fine particles scattter blue Violet light of shorter wavelength. red light scatter least and blue scatter more so that's why sky appears blue.
