  • Schlerenchyma is made up of dead cells.

  • There aren't any intercellular spaces due to the thickness of cell walls

  • This tissue makes the plant hard and stiff. For example : Husk of Coconut.

  • They are long and narrow as the walls are thickened due to lignin ( A Seament like Substance )

  • This tissue is present in stems, around vascular bundles, in the veins of the leaf and in the hard covering of seeds and nuts.

  • It also provides strength to the plant parts.
