Sclerenchyma are kinds cells in plants. They are support tissues composed of various kinds of woody hard cells. These cells are nonstrechable and rigid. These cells are found in those parts of the plants which do not contribute towards the growth of the plants. The matured Sclerenchyma cells are usually dead having heavily thickened secondary walls containing lignin.
