HEYA MATE!!

Answer: Secularism is the belief that no one should be discriminated on the basis of the religion he or she practises. Every citizen, irrespective of which religion he or she follows, is equal in the eyes of the laws and policies that govern the Nation.

Explanation:Secularism's opposition to institutionalized religion means that it promotes freedom and equality between and within religions. Indian secularism does protect an individual's religious freedom by maintaining a separation from religion. The Indian State is not ruled by a religious group.

According to the Constitution , the key elements of secularism in India are as follows :-

1. All religions are equal before law .

2. The Indian State does not have an official religion . This can be interpreted that India is a non religious State , and that all religions are equal. This means that government buildings like courts , police stations,  government offices and government schools cannot display or promote any one religion.

Secondly , in order to respect the sentiments of all religions and to uphold the interest of certain sections of the society , the Indian government does make certain exceptions and intervene in some religious practices .
