Answer:

A sex-determination system is a biological system that determines the development of sexual characteristics in an organism. Most organisms that create their offspring using sexual reproduction have two sexes. Occasionally, there are hermaphrodites in place of one or both sexes.

There are two different types of sexes, that participate in sexual reproduction. There are several other procedures followed to determine the sex of a newborn baby. Based on the environmental signals the sex of a baby can be determined. Humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes. Out of these 23 pairs, 22 pairs are Autosomes and only one pair is the ‘Sex Chromosome’, which actively takes part in the process of sex determination.
