Soil Erosion:

Causes of Soil Erosion:

$\dashrightarrow$Soil erosion occurs when the soil is removed faster than is formed.

There are various processes by which soil removed but the cause is usually the removal trees and other vegetation that hold the together and in place.Some causes are:

• Deforestation. It is the removal of the soil and other vegetation which hold the soil together. When vegetation is removed, the soil surface loosened and removed by running water and wind etc.Rain water that could have been absorbed the soil l,rapidly runs off the surface, carrying with it.
• Overgrazing of land by animals is results in removal of grass over a large and making it easy for wind and running water remove the soil. Hillsides have become barren because of overgrazing by goats.The hooves of cattle compact the soil. It leads desertification.
