soil is a type of natural resource . it is important to us because it gives us plants and other things which is also important for our lives.

Plants need soil to grow as roots fixes the plants firmly to the soil. Soil stores water which is absorbed by the roots. Soil which is rich in humus is fertile. Many kinds of small animals like earthworms, termites, ants, etc. live in the soil. Rabbits, snakes,mice,etc. live in burrows under the soil as soil is the shelter for them. Soil is used to make bricks, pots, cements, mud houses, etc. Many other things that we use in our daily life such as petrol, gas, and different metals also extracted from the soil.
