What is SONAR system?

It is used for sound navigation and ranging. Ultrasonic waves are sent from the ship. These waves are recieved after reflection from an obstacle.

SONAR stands for Sound Navigation and Ranging. This is a device which is used in the ship to locate rocks, icebergs, submarines, old ships in sea, etc. It is also used to measure the depth of a sea.
