Sound "quality" or "timbre" describes those characteristics of sound which allow the ear to distinguish soundswhich have the same pitch and loudness. Timbre is then a general term for the distinguishable characteristics of a tone

sound quality refers to the perceptional characteristics of the hearing sensation invoked by an audio signal.
The satisfaction of listening to a sound source - without a system in between ears and source - depends on individual hearing abilities and preferences, and also on the sound characteristics - or the ‘sound’ - of the source.
