Shiavasamudram is supposed to be the second largest waterfalls in India. The falls happen to fall in the Mandya district of Karnataka and it has two twin falls Gaganachukki and Bharachukki within a distance of one km. Cauvery splashes into majestic falls out of which Shivsamudram is one. As the fall branches in two it creates a spectacular land spot that houses a number of mystic temples. It was believed that there was a village here once upon a time. The waterfall attracts tourists for a month between July and August. When the rivers of Cauvery and Kabini flood together these waterfalls become a mesimerizing sight. Other than the waterfall, Shivasamudram is also popular for the hydro power station that began in 1902. It is supposed to be the first of its kind in Asia which is a fact to pride in.
