Sun is made up of a different type of matter called plasma.
It consist of helium and hydrogen in large quantities which creates heat and light in the sun

anamikaghosh198: Sun is actually made up of large amounts of hydrogen which came together to form helium..... That is why it has been burning for so many years and does not seem to exhaust....
karthikasokan16: Yep that's what I said
ishanyasir17: yes

The Sun is a huge, glowing sphere of hot gas. Most of this gas is hydrogen (about 70%) and helium (about 28%). Carbon, nitrogen and oxygen make up 1.5% and the other 0.5% is made up of small amounts of many other elements such as neonironsiliconmagnesium and sulfur.
