Sun is made of mostly gases like hydrogen and helium. Sun is not burning but produce heat and light because of nuclear fusion between hydrogen and helium which the produce heat and light.

The sun is a huge glowing sphere of hot gas. And also a big ball of gas and plasma. Most of the gas 91 percent is hydrogen.
