Answer:

DEFINITION:A taproot is a large, central, and dominant root from which other roots sprout laterally..

EXPLANATION:

A tap root system has a single main root that grows down. A fibrous root system forms a dense network of roots that is closer to the soil surface.

An example of a tap root system is a carrot. Grasses such as wheat, rice, and corn are examples of fibrous root systems.

Answer: Taproot is a large, central and dominant root from which other roots sprout laterally.

Typically taproot is somewhat straight and very thick.

It is is tapering in shape.

It grows downward directly.

In some plants such as carrot and radish, the taproot is a storage organ so well developed that it has been cultivated as a vegetable.

Plus dandelions are also examples of taproots.
