5th term of 4n+1 = 21

Given:

4n+1

To find:

The 5th term of 4n+1

Solution:

Arithmetic Progression:

  • A sequence of numbers in which the difference between any two consecutive numbers is a constant value
  • Example:

       1, 2, 3, 4, 5  ....  [ with common difference 1 ]

       5, 10, 15 ....   [ with common difference 5 ]

Given 4n+1

Here, 4n+1 will be a nth term of a number sequence AP

where n = 1,2, 3, .... or can be any natural numbers

To find any term in given sequence we need to substitute number of term in given nth term

We can find 5th term f sequence by taking n = 5

5th term of sequence =  4(5)+1 = 20 + 1 = 21

Therefore,

5th term of 4n+1 = 21
