There is the girl in my class in university who is constantly seeking for attention of other people and she always talk about herself. I find communication with her really irritating(her beliefs and deeds are, actually, the exact opposite to stoicism virtues). This will not be a problem, if I'm not obligated to speak to her almost everyday(because we're in one study group). Even when she speaks something about studies she drives me nuts because I think that everything she says is to get some attention from others. Her questions are almost always meaningless and off topic and eventually she change topic to speak about herself.

The noun stoic is a person who's not very emotional. The adjective stoic describes any person, action, or thing that seems emotionless and almost blank. Mr. Spock, from the oldest Star Trek show, was a great example of a stoic person: he tried to never show his feelings.
