What is the cause of killing pupa to produce silk?

After the cocoon formation, the pupa inside it goes on growing process. If the pupa is not killed, the silk threads are broken into pieces. Hence we should kill pupa to avoid this situation while getting silk.

answer: If we will not kill pupa then the silkworm inside it will be also used in silk thread which will be not so smooth and shining. Also silk thread is created from pupa not from silk worm.
