A formula to calculate the mode for grouped data's is given in my text book:
Mode =
l+
l+
(
f
1

f
0
)
(2
f
1

f
0

f
2
)
(f1−f0)(2f1−f0−f2)
∗ h
∗ h
Where,
l=
l=
lower limit of the modal class,
h=
h=
size of the class interval,
f
1
=
f1=
frequency of the modal class,
f
0
=
f0=
frequency of the class preceding the modal class,
f
2
=
f2=
frequency of the class succeeding the modal class.
Can you please explain the derivation of this formula, as it is not given in my T.B. Thanks .
