Three main differences b/w acids and bases are:
1)Acids are sour in taste while bases are bitter in taste.
2)Substances with a pH value between 0 up to 7 are acidic while substances with pH value of 7 to 14 is basic.
3)Acids don't change when applied on turmeric solution while bases change into reddish-orange when applied on turmeric solution.
