what is the difference between ammeter and voltmeter?

An ammeter is a device used to measure current in an electric circuit. It always connected in series, and its resistance is very low as zero.
while voltmeter is a device used to measure Voltage in an electric circuit. It always connected in parallel, and its resistance is infinite or much higher.

Ammeter is a measuring device used to measure the electric current in circuit.
voltmeter is connected parallel to a device to measure it's voltage ,while an ammeter is connected in series with a device to measure it's current.
