There are two process by which organisms obtainnutrition . ... In autotrophic nutrition organism prepares its food from simple substances present in the surroundings . In heterotrophic nutritionorganism obtains food from digesting organic compounds . Autotrophs are the producers in the food chain

Hetrotrophs get nutrients from others or we can say it depend on others for food.E.g animals
