Cisternae are the flattened structures making up Golgi apparatus. Cisterna is also the lumen of rough endoplasmic reticulum.

Whereas cristae are the foldings of inner mitochondrial membrane enclosing mitochondrial matrix.

crista:-A crista is a fold in the inner membrane of a mitochondrion.
