what is the difference between Distance and displacement?​

Distance :- (i) Distance is the ~~~~~~~~~ numbmerical measurement of how far apart an object or body is from its initial position to the final position.

(ii) Distance has no direction it only has magnitude.

(iii) It is a scaler quantity.

Displacement :- (i)Displacement is the shortest distance between the initial position and final position of an object or body.

(ii) Displacement has direction as well as magnitude.

(iii) It is a vector quantity.

Distance is the length of the path taken by an object whereas displacement is the simply the distance between where the object started and where it ended up
