What is the difference between edible and non edible parts of the plants?

Edible Plants have some nutritional value and number of poisonous ones is relatively small.


There are lots of plants are edible such as Leaves, Spinach, Chard, Lettuce and many more.


Most common edible plant in the desert are cactus.


Not all are some might cure you from illnesses and good example is the koala bear eats only eucalyptus leaves.

Literal meaning says, that the part which can be able to eat.

So the parts of the plant which can be eaten it you can say which can give us some benefit are called edible parts of plants.

Like :

Fruit of banana tree ,etc.

" Non-edible parts "

The part of plant which can't be used to get energy, as they can't be eaten.

Like :

Roots of guava tree, etc
