gerund a word which is like a verb but perform the work of A noun is called genrund it has a character sketch of noun and verb
now comes participle it is a verbal adjective we can apply verb first form + ING in this and it have three kinds of participles like the present perfect and past participle

Gerund = verb +ing
Eg : Walking is a good exercise. Here, 'walking 'is the gerund.
Participle =verb +ing but there will 2 actions .
Eg : Seeing me the child ran away. Here, the word 'seeing'is also verb + ing .But there are two actions.
1st action - Seeing me
2nd action - the child ran away.
