What is the difference between note and tone?

Note: (from "notation"): is a certain frequency that you write or read. Pitch: is a certain frequency that you sing or play.
Tone: is a certain frequency that you hear. Timbre: is a certain quality (or color) of the tone, depending on the instrument and how you play/sing the tone.
