What is the difference between periodic motion and oscillatory motion?

The main difference is that oscillatory motion is always periodic but a periodic motion may or may not be oscillatory motion. For example, the motion of a pendulum is both oscillatory motion and periodic motion but the motion of the wheels of a car is only periodic because the wheels rotate in a circular motion.

Every oscillatory motion is necessarily periodic because it is repeated at regular interval of time. In addition, it is bounded about one mean position. But every periodic motion need not be oscillatory motion. For example, the earth completes one Revolution around the sun in 1 year but it is not a to and fro motion about any mean position. Hence its motion is periodic but not oscillatory.
