Ravine is a place where any kind of vegetation is not possible due to the infertility of the land.
Badland is a place where the topography is not good and vegetation is also not possible ,in simple words there are many land obstacles like plateau infertile hill mountain.

Due to the formation of gullies,
the land becomes unfit for cultivation hence it is referred as badlands..
