Traditional wells: These involved digging the ground, especially in regions with hard rocks, to get to the water table to provide underground water for domestic use. The wells were characterized with walls with hard rocks, to avoid collapse, and were also relatively shallow.
Tube wells: These wells are dug using technological inventions by drilling a pipe or or a stainless-steel tube down into an aquifer. The tube wells can be dug in regions with soft soil such as sand and are quite deep as compared to the traditional wells.
