UREOTELIC:-
1.ureotelic organism excretes excess nitrogen as urea. It is one of the three major forms of excretion of nitrogenous waste in organisms, the others being ammonotelism and uricotelism.
2.Urea is less toxic than the ammonia excreted by ammonotelic organisms.

URICOTELIC:-
1.
Animals that excrete a major portion of nitrogenous waste in the form of semi-solid or solid uric acid are called uricotelic animals.

Differences Between Ureotelic And Uricotelic Animals Are As Follows -

Ureotelic Animals-

  • These are animals that excrete urea in the form of waste.
  • The ureotelic animals excrete urea or its salt.
  • Urea can be stored in cells, body tissues without toxic effects.
  • Urea needs less water for its excretion.
  • Ureotelic organisms include all cartilaginous fishes, a few bony fishes, amphibians, and mammals including humans.

Uricotelic Animals-

  • These are animals that excrete excess nitrogen in the form of Uric acid.
  • The excreta is usually a white paste and insoluble solids or semi-solids.
  • Uric acid requires even less water than urea to flush out from the body.
  • Uricotelic organisms include Birds, reptiles such as snakes and lizards, and terrestrial arthropods.
