In the mains supply cable of domestic wiring, the electric potential is 220V. In the main supply cable there are three wires live wire, neutral wire and ground wire. In live wire there is maximum potential that is 220V, in neutral wire there is zero potential or no potential and in ground wire there is any extra potential or current is flowing which protect us from any electric shock. Live is much more dangerous than the neutral wire.
