Amelia Earhart was an American pilot and is known to be the world's best woman pilot who disappeared in 1937 during one such flight.She was also a women's rights activist.


Amelia was born on 24th July,1897 to Amy Otis and Edwin Earhart. She lived with her maternal grandparents till the age of 12 and studied in a private school. Her father was a lawyer who worked for Rock Island Railroad.In 1909, Amelia along with her sister Muriel went to live with their parents in Iowa.


Her father was an alcoholic and so her mother shifted to Chicago along with her daughters, where Amelia graduated from school in 1915.
