When a foreign material(virus,bacteria) enters our body then our lymphotcytes get active and create a picture of that material so that they can kill them if they attack again in future. It sends a signal to our hypothalamus present in our brain which in turn increases the temperature of our body so that the population of the foreign material could not increase.
