Food is made up of several kinds of energy rich substances called nutrients. Nutrients themselves are chemical substances obtained from food during digestion. Nutrients are divided into 6 main classes:
1) carbohydrates
2) proteins
3) vitamins
4) minerals
5) fats
6) water and roughage...
Carbohydrates and fats are energy giving food.
Proteins Minerals and fats are bodybuilding food.
Vitamins and minerals are protective food.
All living organisms by the plants or animals need food. They need food to get energy which is utilised by the body to do various metabolic functions of the body. The process of taking info as its utilisation of the body is known as nutrition. Here only nutrients are consumed by a body for getting energy.
