Influence of the Himalayas on Indian agriculture:

1.Himalayas act as a barrier the chilly or cold winds coming from the North. Therefore provides a suitable environment for the growth of agriculture.

2.The rivers flowing through Himalayas are snow fed and hence perennial. These perennial rivers provide water for irrigation and fertile Alluvial soil in northern plains.

3.Himalayan regions are most suitable for cultivation of tea plantation,orchids,medicinal plants and herbs,these are of excellent source of income and provides boost to our agriculture economy.

4.Himalayan region of several sites which are suitable for the production of the hydroelectricity which helps in fulfilling the requirement of water for agriculture lands.
