What is the irony of "not marbles nor the gilded monuments" ?

The irony shown by shakespeare is that generally mighty monuments and buildings made of marble or gold last longer but actually a short poem which is considered to be insignificant by the people stays for centuries and more. Everything else gets decayed and abolished by time. And his poem will last forevr. hope it help
