Hi Mate,

It is the form of cultivation in which on a tract of land trees are cut till the root and burnt so as to provide fertility to the soil. after using the land for five to six years the land loses its fertility so the same process is carried out on another tract of land.

jhumming is a kind of cultivation which is also known as slash and burn and shifting cultivation
in this ,an area of land is cleared bu cutting down the trees of that area and burning them.
then this land is used as an agricultural field and when the soil loses its fertility, the cultivators move to another land.
