aerobic respiration:

  • it is a type of respiration done in the presence of oxygen.
  • Oxygen is present when this form of respiration takes place.
  • humans respiration is example

anaerobic respiration:

  • it is a type of reaction done in the lack or absence of oxygen
  • alcohol fermentation is example

The main differences between aerobic and anaerobic respiration are given below:

Aerobic Restoration

  • Respiration is the chemical process of burning food(starch) to form energy. Respiration which involves oxygen is called aerobic respiration.
  • Aerobic respiration releases more energy and its end products are carbon dioxide and water.
  • An example of aerobic respiration is Cellular respiration( in higher living beings). It

Anaerobic Restoration

  • The respiration which doesn't need the involvement of oxygen is called anaerobic respiration.
  • It releases less energy as compared to aerobic respiration and alcohol is its end product.
  • Examples of anaerobic respiration include lactose fermentation, lactic acid fermentation, and decomposition of organic matter.
