The main differences between aerobic and anaerobic respiration are given below:
Aerobic Restoration
- Respiration is the chemical process of burning food(starch) to form energy. Respiration which involves oxygen is called aerobic respiration.
- Aerobic respiration releases more energy and its end products are carbon dioxide and water.
- An example of aerobic respiration is Cellular respiration( in higher living beings). It
Anaerobic Restoration
- The respiration which doesn't need the involvement of oxygen is called anaerobic respiration.
- It releases less energy as compared to aerobic respiration and alcohol is its end product.
- Examples of anaerobic respiration include lactose fermentation, lactic acid fermentation, and decomposition of organic matter.
