t I think that the primary condition, or one of them, is that the Law of Raoult should be fulfilled.
According to this law, the molecules of the different substances of the mixture (solute, solvent) must be so similar to one another that the molecules of one of the components can replace those of the other without variation of the spatial structure of the solution or of the energy due to intermolecular interactions.
Likewise, the solute must be the one that is in a lesser proportion and the solvent must be the one that is in a greater proportion in the solution.
