The peninsular plateau is a table land. It is composed of the oldest rocks as it was formed from the drifted part of the Gondwana land. Broad and shallow valleys and rounded hills are the characteristic feature of this plateau.Tabld land composed of old crystalline igneous and metamorphic rocks it is considered the oldest landmass as it was formed due to the drifting of Gondwana land.it was formed due to the breaking and drifting of the Gondwana land.I t consist of two major divisions namely the central highland and then Deccan plateau.t he distinct feature of Deccan plateau is the black soil area also known as the Deccan trap.
