I think

100--> 20%discount->100 of 1/5(multiple factors)= 100/5=20

then,SP-D=100-20=80

100---->10disct=90-->10disct=81

81-80=1%Decreased

Let,s consider the CP of  certain artical = Rs. 100

After providing 20%discount = ( 20% of CP)

                                                                        = ( \frac{20}{100} ×100)

                                                                        = 20

After providing 20% discount the SP will be ( 100-20) = Rs. 80

Now let,s apply the 2nd discount,

Second discount =( 10% of Rs.80)

                             = \frac{10}{100} ×80= 8

After providing 10% discount , the price will be = Rs.( 80 -8) =Rs.72

Total discount will be =( 20 + 8 ) = 28

Hence over all percent of discount will be :-

⇒ ( total discount ÷ initial price)×100

⇒( \frac{28}{100} × 100 )

⇒ 28%

Ans :- Over all % of discount will be 28%
