power of a lens is equal to reciprocal of focal lenght.
the P=100/f
P=100/80=10/8
P=1.25 Dioptre

I hope this will help you

Hey there !

Thanks for the question !

Solution:

Formula to be used: Power = 1 / Focal length ( In Meters )

So Given information:

Focal Length = 80 cm

=> Focal length = 80 / 100 = 0.8 meters.

Hence Power = 1 / 0.8

=> Power = 10 / 8 = 1.25 D

Since the focal length and Power is positive, the lens is Converging lens or Convex Lens.

So Power of the lens provided is 1.25 D

Hope my answer helped !
