First, the sperm cell travel along the sperm duct, into the urethra. The seminal vesicles and prostate gland make a sugary fluid for the sperm cells to swim in. The sugar helps to give the sperm cells energy to swim. Then the egg cell goes into the oviduct. This is where fertilisation happens the sperm cell and egg cell meet in the oviduct.
