Answer:

USB hard drives and USB thumb drives are an easy way to transfer data between computers and a good backup solution. Once information is copied to the device, it can be copied from the drive to another computer.

DMA(Direct Memory Access )

The process of transferring data from the memory of a computer to a storage device called DMA.

  • Some computer bus architectures have the Direct Memory Access (DMA) feature, which enables data to be transmitted directly from an associated device (such a disc drive) to the motherboard's memory.
  • A peripheral device can directly control the memory bus of a processor using direct memory access (DMA). DMA enables a peripheral, such a UART, to send data directly to or from memory without the processor having to process each byte (or word).
  • Direct Memory Access is what it means in essence. It is a procedure that makes it possible to transmit data between memory and an IO (Input/Output) device without the use of, or you might say without the involvement of, the CPU.
