Federalism involved division of power between different levels of government. In a country like India, where different places have different situations and problems, the system of federalism proves to be the best solution.
The pnachayati raj system is prevailent in rural India. The Panchayat is aware of the problems of the villagers and is this able to solve their problems in the best possible way. On the other hand, had the villages been under the direct control of the central government, the villagers might not have received the best solution to their problems
