receptors of tongue are called as sensory buds or taste buds

Taste buds are known as receptors of the tongue. Receptors are areas which sense stimulus (change in environmental conditions). In this case, the food that we eat acts as stimulus. Taste buds of the tongue detect this taste and hence act as receptors. Therefore, we can say that taste buds are the receptors of the tongue 

They are also called gustatory receptors.
