when white light is passed through a prism dispersion of light occurs and when another prism is kept inverted the dispersed light which was formed will get back to white light. this is known as recombination of spectrum  of light.

Answer:

Recombination of the spectrum of white light.

Explanation:

At the time of the 1670's the scientist know that when sunlight is passed through a prism different colour can be obtained, but it was belived that the prism produces all the 7 colours (VIBGYOR) and it was thought prism produced all the colour and the sunlight was nothing just white light.

But ISAAC NEWTON proved that this was incorrect, He published his resuts along with his experiments to prove that the prism did not produce the 7 colours.

EXPIRIMENT:-

He took 2 prisms and kept the second prism inverted with respect to the first prism and then he passed a narrow beam of white light through the first prism the light disperse and by adjusting the second prism slightly he got the white light emeging out of the second prism, This is known as RECOMBINATION OF SPECTRUM OF WHITE LIGHT.
