An ideal ammeter should have zero resistance.  It is connected in series to measure current . So it should not add any resistance to the circuit.  Otherwise the  current in the circuit is modified by adding ammeter.

An ideal  voltmeter should have infinite resistance. Voltmeter is connected in parallel. So current does not flow in to it if resistance is infinite.  So, in the ideal case, it does not disturb the current and potentials in the circuit.

1) Ammeter is used to measure the current
2) Resistance always appose the current
3)For measure accurate current ,use should use ideal ammeter which have Zero resistance

1)Voltmeter is connected in parallel
2) current is divided in parallel
3)we should used such type of voltmeter which doesnot draw any current from circuit
3)resistance of ideal voltmeter is infinite
