The male reproductive part of a flower is called the stamen. It is composed of a long tube, called a filament, and has a pollen-producing structure on the end. ... It is crucial in the reproduction of flowering plants, as it produces the male gametophyte, known as pollen.
The male reproductive part of a flower is androecium, which is made up of one or more stamens (individual units). Each stamen is divided into two parts: anther and filament. The filament acts as a stalk, above which the anther is located.
The anther acts as a pollen sac and contains haploid pollen grains, which on pollination, promotes fertilisation and subsequent development of fruit.
